Penticton non-profit paid camping costs for homeless amid rental crunch

With a housing vacancy rate of under 2 per cent The City of Penticton is struggling to keep up with the demand for affordable rental housing.

Some people, out of sheer desperation, are living in campgrounds, as it’s the only place they can find shelter.

But with winter fast approaching, the race is on to find a roof to put over their heads.
