Dozens of people, including homeowners and volunteers, work feverishly to protect homes in Kelowna after Mill Creek burst its banks

One big trouble spot has been Mill Creek as it runs through Kelowna. The normally small waterway burst its banks, and as day went on, the flood surge seemed to move downstream, starting with a strip of businesses near Highway 97 north, then the Parkinson Rec Centre grounds, and finally flooding Ethel and Marshall Streets and forcing evacuations near the city centre. Electrical crews are rushing through those neighborhoods, shutting off power to homes where residents have been forced out by water. Klaudia V
