At first glance it may seem like an unlikely partnership, but officials say it is already working in other regions. Kelowna RCMP and Interior Health are pairing a psychiatric nurse with a police officer, calling it the Police and Crisis Team. They are hoping this will help when the police find themselves dealing with mental health and substance abuse calls.
