The federal government is again cutting how many international student permits Canada will issue, this time for 2025 and laying out the plan for 2026, Immigration Minister Marc Miller and Labour Minister Randy Boissonnault announced Wednesday. In 2025, Canada plans to issue 437,000 study permits, which is down 10 per cent from the 485,000 permits issued in 2024. This number will be the same in 2026, stabilizing intake levels.
