Pre-budget tradition: Freeland signals budget direction with new shoes

On Monday, Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland took part in a pre-budget tradition in which the Finance Minister buys a new pair of shoes to signal the direction the government plans to take in the coming year. This year, Freeland opted for a pair of black heels ahead of the release of the federal budget on Tuesday.
