Opioid crisis: Nearly 1 in 4 federal inmates receiving treatment for addiction

The opioid epidemic has gripped Canada for nearly eight years now, and the prison system is no exception. A recently answered written question in parliament reveals that nearly one quarter of federal inmates are receiving treatment for opioid addiction, which creates its own challenges in the prison system — both administratively and in trying to rehabilitate people.
