Regina Mayor Sandra Masters said the black-capped chickadee earned the title through its resourceful and resilient reputation. Royal Saskatchewan Museum vertebrate zoology curator Ryan Fisher said its special not only to see the black-capped chickadee around Regina but a diverse variety of birds thanks to the city’s green spaces.
