Music streaming service Spotify said on Monday that it is cutting about 1,500 jobs, or 17 per cent of its global workforce, in the company’s third round of layoffs this year. In a message to employees posted on the company’s blog, CEO Daniel Ek said the jobs were being cut as part of a “strategic reorientation,” as it works to lower costs and focus on becoming profitable.
