‘Death haunts us every second’: Palestinian-Canadian waits with family as Gaza evacuations suspended

A Palestinian-Canadian waited with her daughter at Gaza’s Rafah border on Sunday to cross to Egypt but couldn’t, after evacuations were suspended. Seham al-Batnejy said she’s been going back and forth for five days to the Rafah border crossing, trying to gain safety in Egypt. “We walk scared, death haunts us every second. We wish that all the countries would support us, we’re humans after all, feel for us. We’re struggling so much. No water, no electricity, no food,” al-Batnejy said.
