On his visit to Northwest Territories on Thursday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada will build 50 “new, affordable homes” in Yellowknife with federal funding under the Rapid Housing Initiative, after the territory saw nearly 70 per cent of its population displaced by wildfires and a record amount of land burned during the fire season.
