Thousands of warrants have been issued for alleged violations of probation and conditional sentence conditions in Ontario and never been executed.

Global News sat down with Ontario's minister of community safety and corrections to bring her the findings of our investigation into Ontario's probation system.

Ontario's ombudsman is examining whether to do a formal investigation into the province's probation system, after Global News exposed concerns that criminals aren't being properly monitored.

"How many of these 4,513 are sexual predators, pedophiles or violent criminals?

“Can you imagine that someone who is convicted of child luring and is out on probation and there is no one checking up on him? It’s ridiculous and offensive,” PC Leader Patrick Brown said.
