A severe thunderstorm swept across the Lac La Biche region, leaving a swath of destruction in the Lakeland Provincial Recreation Area and trapping a family near Seibert Lake.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the fatal crash of a light plane in northeastern Alberta in which the pilot died.
