Jonathan Meikle and Matthew Shorting were presented with two Royal Canadian Humane Association Bravery Awards for helping a bus passenger who was threatened by a man with a knife in November, 2018.

From an off-duty Edmonton cop to a Red Deer father, there was no shortage of Albertans who jumped into action in various situations requiring bravery in 2016-17 and a number of them were honoured in Edmonton on Friday.
