Vancouver city councillors got an update on a multi-million dollar program to fund mental health supports aimed at reducing police response to crisis calls.

Mayor-elect Ken Sim campaigned heavily on public safety, with the pledge to hire 100 new officers and 100 mental health nurses at the centre of his platform.
