Harshkumar Patel was sentenced to just over 10 years in prison last year, after a Minnesota jury found him guilty of being part of the smuggling ring.

The two were accused of carrying out smuggling trips between Manitoba and Minnesota on several occasions in December 2021 and January 2022.
