An Edmonton woman is praising two kind strangers for rescuing her dog from the icy waters of the North Saskatchewan River this past weekend.

Thousands of pounds of items and waste were hauled away from the high-risk encampment in the ravine at Dawson Park, below the east end of Jasper Avenue in Edmonton.
