The vote has become contentious ever since 2006, when then-premier Ralph Klein received just 55 per cent support and decided to step down earlier than originally planned.

Redford is not saying what number she would be comfortable with, but her supporters are taking no chances.

Delegates are being offered stickers that urge delegates to say no to a leadership vote.

There are also buttons saying “I’m With Alison.”
