Shots fired during Oakridge Mall jewelry heist

Shots were fired during a holdup at Vancouver’s Oakridge Mall Thursday night, according to Global News.

Two men walked into Montecristo Jewellers with a gun around 8:30 p.m. and threatened to kill everyone if they did not comply with orders, according to Global.

No one was seriously hurt and there is no word on how much the thieves escaped with.

A store employee suffered a minor head injury and a security guard cut his finger at some point during the ordeal, a Vancouver police officer told Global.

Calls to Vancouver police by The Province were not returned late Thursday.

The same jeweller was robbed in 2007 by armed bandits who cleared out thousands of dollars worth of luxury brand watches and jewelry, from Cartier to Rolex.

Stay tuned for updates.
