Sarah McLachlan, Tom Cochrane, The Tenors to perform free holiday concerts

TORONTO — This year’s CP Holiday Train — which travels across Canada to collect cash and food donations for local charities — will make stops in three cities for concerts by Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Tom Cochrane, The Tenors, Great Big Sea, Matt Dusk, Natalie MacMaster and Take 6.

The line-up of talent was announced Tuesday.

“Since 1999, our Holiday Train has raised $7.4 million and more than 3 million pounds of food for local charities,” said E. Hunter Harrison, CP’s chief executive officer, in a release. “I thank these internationally-renowned artists for joining us in shining a bright spotlight on this important issue.”

Cochrane and Red Rider will perform with Great Big Sea and Natalie MacMaster at Gage Park in Hamilton, Ont. on Nov. 30 at 5pm.

McLachlan, Dusk and The Tenors will be at the Anderson LRT Station in Calgary on Dec. 7 at 5pm.

Crow will perform with Take 6 at the CP Yard at Cottage Grove, Minnesota on Dec. 14 at 5pm.

The concerts are free but donations and non-perishable food items are encouraged.

The CP Holiday Train will travel across Canada and into the U.S. from Nov. 25 to Dec. 19.
