Train and vehicle collide outside Saskatoon

Throughout Sunday, Dec. 4, Saskatoon RCMP were on the scene of a serious collision between a vehicle and a train.

The collision occurred approximately 1.6 kilometers west of Elstow, Sask. on Highway 16.

No information has been released on whether or not anyone was injured or how many people were involved in the collision.

While assessing the collision, traffic was rerouted throughout the day as all lanes were closed on Highway 16 near Kary Road.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, all roads have been reopened and no more restrictions are in place.

Delays were in place for roughly eight hours Sunday.

STARS ambulance was also dispatched to the scene according to a tweet Sunday morning.
