LAVAL – Police have arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run incident that killed a 75-year-old man on Monday in Laval.
The man in his thirties will meet with Laval police investigators on Tuesday. Charges are expected to be confirmed in a possible afternoon court appearance.
The accident took place during the morning rush near a McDonald’s on Laurentides Boulevard in Laval at around 8 a.m. on Monday morning.
The elderly couple were making their way towards the restaurant after parking there car when a black SUV ran them down after leaving the drive-through.
The 75-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transferred to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His wife was also hurt, although her injuries were not as serious, police said.
