WATCH: Rockets dominate last place Hurricanes

KELOWNA — A dominating performance for the Kelowna Rockets Wednesday night, winning 6-0 against the bottom dwelling Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Riley Stadel got things started early, scoring at 1:42 of the first and again at 14:05 on the powerplay.

Ryan Olsen scored in the second on the powerplay making it 3-0.

Stadel got a hatrick early in the second, as the Rockets took a commanding 4-0 lead.

Tyson Bailie and Tyrell Goulbourne scored in the third to make it 6-0.

The Rockets seemed to be on the powerplay over much of the game, getting four 5-3 powerplays but only going 3-13 by night’s end.

Kelowna outshot the Hurricanes 62 – 26.

Jordan Cooke wasn’t busy, but was good enough to get his 6th career shutout.

Kelowna is now 6-1-0-2, Lethbridge lose their 7th in a row. Rockets jump back up to second in the western conference.

Riley Stadel (3 goals, 1 assist), Nick Merkley (4 assists) and Ryan Olsen (1 goal, 3 assists) each had 4 points.

Rockets play again at home on Saturday against the Prince George Cougars.
