A minibus driver trapped in a deformed cab was rescued by firefighters on Wednesday morning after his car was crushed by an overturned truck loaded with sand in Zhangzhou City of east China’s Fujian Province.
Upon receiving the report of the accident, a fire engine and six firefighters were immediately sent to the site. They found the minibus crushed by the overturned truck, with its front buried in sand and the driver trapped in cab.

The rescuers first moved the sand inside the cab with shovels, then dismantled the car door and the steering wheel with hydraulic tools.
After clearing the sand in the cab within ten minutes, rescuers found that the driver’s right foot was stuck.
Then a hoist and a bulldozer were sent to the site to join the rescue operation. After 30 minutes, the sand around the minibus was removed, the driver was rescued and sent to hospital.
According to the minibus driver, an electric scooter drove rapidly and suddenly made a turn at the crossing near Zhengxing School. The truck turned over and crushed the oncoming minibus when it tried to avoid the scooter.
Tons of sand buried the minibus and trapped the driver inside the deformed cab.
He and the truck driver were both slightly injured, according to rescuers.
