Investigators are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who may have pictures of the incident to contact them.

The stabbing occurred during Nuit Blanche, an annual art festival that keeps crowds on city streets until the early hours of the morning.

Police also say they are interested in speaking with any taxi driver who picked up three to five young men near the scene of the stabbing who appeared to be in a hurry.

Police say another man was stabbed downtown some two hours earlier (at Yonge-Dundas Square) that night but have said he was expected to survive.
