MONTREAL – Two men have pleaded guilty in Quebec Superior Court in Montreal to six criminal charges stemming from the G20 summit in Toronto in June 2010.
Youri Couture, 25, pleaded guilty to assaulting a peace officer, committing an indictable offence while masked, and common nuisance for smashing a window of Starbucks.
Couture’s image was captured on video, throwing a rock through the window of a Starbucks, causing $18,233 damage, and threw a long wooden post over a crowd of protesters into a line of police officers.
Guillaume Constantineau, 32, pleaded guilty to assault upon a peace officer, committing an indictable offence with his face masked, and common nuisance for smashing a window on Yonge Street.
Constantineau smashed the front door of the Winners store, used a wooden stake to hit a police officer over the head, and then used the stake to stab at the officer’s riot shield.
