TORONTO – A man came very close to a waterspout while vacationing in Rhodes, Greece on Oct. 2.
The beautiful waterspout was captured on video by Carl Phillips. At one point the waterspout comes very close to shore.
“Oh my god,” a woman is heard saying in the video. “I’ve never seen anything like it!”
There are two types of waterspouts: fair-weather waterspouts and tornadic waterspouts.
Tornadic waterpouts are tornadoes that form over water or move from land to water. They develop from thunderstorms.
Fair-weather waterspouts are not associated with thunderstorms, but rather form from cumulus clouds.
