Port Moody man handed a number of tickets after alleged road rage incident

Port Moody police are investigating an alleged road rage incident.

It happened in the area of St. Johns and Mary Street Tuesday afternoon.

Police say it appears two cars were travelling westbound on St. Johns Street when one driver yelled at another to slow down.

The 39-year-old Port Moody then threw a pen at the other person’s vehicle.

The driver of the other car then apparently changed lanes in front of the first vehicle, causing a minor collision.

The 21-year-old Port Coquitlam man then apparently got out of his car and began yelling at the other driver and banging on the hood.

The first driver became concerned for his safety and drove away, knocking the 21-year-old driver to the ground. The latter sustained minor injuries to his arm.

The 39-year-old driver was handed a number of tickets, including failure to remain at the scene of an accident, failure to render assistance and driving without due care.

No charges have been laid.
