Emergency department at Pasqua Hospital gets major facelift

The emergency room at Regina’s Pasqua Hospital has been reopened after a $6 million facelift was completed. Renovations included a 5,000 square foot addition, 22 new stretcher stations and new equipment.

It’s hoped the new design will decrease the time spent in the waiting room, and will allow health professionals to better monitor the people who come through the door.

"The redesign and expansion of Pasqua Hospital’s Emergency Department was done with the safety and comfort of patients as a top priority," Health Minister Don McMorris said in a release. "This is a good example of how the health care system is rethinking how services are delivered, for the benefit of the people of Saskatchewan."

On average, 36,000 patients visit the emergency room at the Pasqua Hospital each year.
