Budget Highlights – Post Secondary Education

Post secondary students in Saskatchewan can expect to see tuitions increase, but the Wall government is taking steps to limit that jump. Students will now be able to earn as much as they choose and own a vehicle while they study without affecting their eligibility for financial assistance. Interest rates will also be reduced to prime on repayable loans.

– $556 million in operational funding for post secondary institutions, a five percent increase

– $97.9 million for student loans, grants, bursaries, Provincial Training Allowance and Graduate Retention Program

– $16.3 million to limit tuition increases to about five percent
