An woman in her 70s has been transported to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Toronto, police say.
In a tweet Tuesday, Toronto police said just before 5 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the Lomond Drive and Aberfoyle Crescent area.
Toronto paramedics initially told Global News the elderly woman was taken to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.
However, in an update at around 9:45 p.m., police said the woman’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Police said the driver remained on scene.
The roads have now reopened, officers said.
