TORONTO – The Toronto Eaton Centre is giving consumers more time to shop by extending its hours of operation beginning Aug. 31.

Cadillac Fairview, the company which owns and manages the downtown mall, says their research indicate retailers and shoppers want the option to purchase items when most other stores in the Greater Toronto Area are closed.

“Ultimately it is our responsibility to offer the utmost convenience for our guests, which includes providing competitive accessibility to our retailers,” said Meredith Vlitas, Senior Marketing Director, Toronto Eaton Centre in a media release.

The new hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

The extended hours will run until January 1, 2014, at which point the initiative will be reviewed.

The decision comes just three weeks after Toronto Premium Outlets opened in Halton Hills.
