The Manitoba man is a suspect in the homicide of Clifford Joseph, 40, whose body has not been found.

The Prince Edward County OPP detachment said it was tipped off that Wildman, who was wanted by RCMP, was at a local residence on the evening of June 17.

With the help of a tactical unit, emergency response team and canine officers, police tried to enter the home in the early hours of June 18, when the gunfire began.

OPP said the standoff ended when Wildman and another person surrendered to police with the help of crisis negotiators.
