An Ontario company which helps Canadian families adopt children from Africa has gone bankrupt, according to the agency’s website.

Kids Link, which operates the Imagine adoption agency, posted a notice on its website written by Susan E. Taves, the senior vice-president of financial recovery company BDO Dunwoody Ltd.

The notice said there are not enough funds in the bank to service the families who are using Kids Link.

Two clients, Susan Hayhow and Andrew Morrow, arrived in Africa on Monday. The notice said they have been contacted about the bankruptcy.

The notice also said that BDO will review the affairs of Kids Link. The Imagine adoption agency was also arranging adoptions from Ecuador and Ghana.

Imagine adoption agency was not answering the phone Tuesday.

It is unknown how many families are affected by the agency’s demise.
