A community resiliency centre is set to open today for people affected by the Lemon Creek spill.

It’s been more than a week since a tanker truck fell into Lemon Creek, leaking jet fuel into the waterway.

The resiliency center will be located at Winlaw elementary school.

People living in the Slocan Valley will now have access to water, showers and bathrooms.

Disaster relief personnel will also be on site.

Crews are continuing to clear the jet fuel, which has also flowed into the Slocan River.
