CALGARY – A 12-year-old boy has died, after he was hit by an SUV while riding a dirtbike Friday.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Friday in the southwest community of Mount Royal.

A 16-year-old male was driving an Acura MDX southbound in the 1900 block of 10A street SW, when the youth came out of an alley in front of the SUV.
The SUV hit the youth who was thrown from his dirtbike and hit a parked vehicle.
The 12-year-old who was not wearing a helmet was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision.
