Variety Week on Global BC 2020: Day 2

The fifth annual Variety Week continues Tuesday, highlighting stories from children and families around the province who have been helped by Variety – the Children’s Charity.

You can donate to help kids in B.C. through Variety by calling 310-KIDS or donating online. You can also text KIDS to 45678 to make a $20 donation.

Here are some of the stories we are sharing on the second day of Variety Week.

When Jeneece was only three, Variety helped with a live saving back brace. Jeneece quietly started a penny drive that turned into one of the most celebrated fundraisers in Variety history.  Now known as Frankie, we spoke to the philanthropist about how life has changed and the incredible accomplishment.

The degenerative disease that afflicts Scarlett is affecting her strength and mobility. Variety has funded an adaptive trike to keep Scarlett active and give her the opportunity to ride with her dad.

Jenna uses a wheelchair for mobility, but sitting all day can be painful for her. A new power wheelchair will have special features that provide much-needed relief for Jenna’s cerebral palsy. However, her new chair is very expensive and her family is in need of financial assistance to help cover the cost of her new chair.
