Newlyweds Tina Turner, Edwin Bach set to celebrate at Swiss chateau

TORONTO – As first reported by Globalnews.ca on July 10, singer Tina Turner has married her longtime partner, music executive Erwin Bach in Switzerland.

Reuters reported Wednesday the couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony and plan to celebrate Sunday with a Buddhist ceremony at their home on Lake Zurich.

News of the nuptials also appeared Wednesday on the websites of People and US Weekly.

But it was a full week ago that Globalnews.ca reported that Turner, 73, and Bach, 57, were married at a registry office and were to celebrate with a Buddhist spiritual ceremony on July 21.

This is the second marriage for Turner, who was married to her musical partner Ike Turner from 1962 and 1976.

Their rocky union was chronicled in the 1993 movie What’s Love Got to Do With It.

The singer and Bach have been together since 1986 and were engaged last year – around the same time Turner became a Swiss citizen.
