TORONTO – 200 members of the Sûreté du Québec are on the ground in Lac-Megantic after last weekend’s devastating train disaster that levelled the downtown core.
The death toll from the train derailment rose to 24 Thursday evening, while authorities fear as many as 50 were killed.
The Sûreté said 25 investigators and 19 technicians are examining the crime scene and close to 100 officers are patrolling the community.
