Man, 19, charged with manslaughter in fatal shooting of 16-year-old London teen

A 19-year-old London man is facing a charge of manslaughter in connection with the Tuesday shooting death of a 16-year-old teenager at an apartment complex across from London police headquarters.

Investigators responded to 580 Dundas St., just west of Adelaide Street, around 5:30 p.m. for a reported shooting inside of a unit.

A 16-year-old boy was located inside the apartment with an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead shortly after, police said in a brief update early Wednesday afternoon.

The victim has since been identified by police as Owen Nicholas Serieska of London.

A 19-year-old man who police say was known to the victim was taken into custody and has since been charged with manslaughter.

Jesse Joseph Winstanley, of London, is set to appear in court Wednesday in relation to the charge.

A firearm was recovered, police said.
