CALGARY – The Calgary police homicide unit is now investigating an overnight shooting that killed one man and sent another to hospital in life-threatening condition.
Police responding to gunshots in the 800-900 block of 8th Avenue SW around 2:30am.

Upon arrival, officers found two men in their mid-twenties suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.
One victim died upon arrival at the hospital, the other remains in critical condition.
A large scene remains taped off in the area as police continue to investigate.
