It could be a messy commute this week along a busy stretch of road in East Vancouver as crews start their work on the Powell Street overpass.
Starting Monday, the road will be closed for one year, part of a 50-million dollar enhancement project.
Drivers will be detoured between Hanks Avenue and Clark Drive.
But apart from traffic chaos, local businesses are also worried how they’ll be affected by the construction.
Once complete, the new roadway will have four lanes of vehicle traffic, two pedestrian sidewalks and a designated bike lane
