Toddler wearing diaper found wandering alone in Oshawa, police say

Durham Regional Police say a toddler wearing a diaper was found wandering the streets alone Oshawa on Wednesday.

Police said the child, a two-year-old boy, was found in the Stevenson Road and Bond Street area at around 3:45 a.m.

A passing motorist spotted the boy, stopped to help and called 911, police said.

Investigators said the mother has been located, and she and the child have been reunited.

The toddler did not suffer any physical injuries. Investigators said paramedics checked to make sure the child was healthy after he was exposed to the elements.

Police said the circumstances are not suspicious at this time and no charges have been laid. The toddler apparently managed to find a way out the front door of the home, police said.
