Valkyries victorious over Riot at Prairie Conference final

SASKATOON – Heading into the Prairie Conference final on Sunday, two provincial rivals met up at Taylor Field in Regina.

The Saskatoon Valkyries are the two-time defending Western Women’s Canadian Football League (WWCFL) champions. Their only loss as a franchise came at the hands of the Riot earlier this season.

Yesterday, the Regina Riot were out to prove their upset wasn’t just a fluke. They earned a home field advantage due to a slight edge in point differential in the regular season.

In the end, the Valkyries were victorious over the Riot 55-27.

Saskatoon will play the Lethbridge Steel at the 2013 WWCFL championship on Saturday in Regina. The two teams met last year in the final.
