SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, Ont. – A nearly eight-hour standoff between police and a 59-year-old man southwest of London, Ont., has ended peacefully.
Provincial police say they were called to a home in Southwest Middlesex just after 1:30 p.m. Friday and found a man had barricaded himself inside.

Officers set up a perimeter around the home and called in crisis negotiators as well as an emergency response team and other reinforcements.
Police say the standoff ended around 9 p.m. and the man was taken into custody.
