Ontario’s police watchdog investigating after man injured in crash involving cruisers in Brampton

Peel Regional Police say Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a 38-year-old man was injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a few police cruisers in Brampton Wednesday morning.

Police said they were called to Advance Boulevard in the Dixie Road and Steeles Avenue West area at around 3:30 a.m.

Investigators said they initially received a call for a suspicious vehicle being investigated for dangerous operation.

There was a collision with the suspect vehicle and five to six police cruisers. Police later said the man sustained an injury during the incident.

A man was taken into custody by police and later taken to hospital.

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating the conduct of the officers who responded to the call.

Police said Advance Boulevard was closed between Dixie and Wilkinson roads for the investigation.
