More teachers expected to be laid off this month

The Coquitlam School District has laid off about 50 people, and there could be more.

About 400 school teachers there are expected to lose their jobs later this month.

It’s a move to fix a 12.6 million dollar deficit. And they’re not the only school district making drastic cuts.

New Westminster laid off nearly 40 employees last week, after the district announced a 5.5 million dollar shortfall.
