Winnipeg police investigate homicide at Talbot Avenue apartment

Police are investigating the stabbing death of a man at an Elmwood apartment early Wednesday.

Officers were called to the apartment block at 345 Talbot Avenue around 1:35 a.m. and police tape could still be seen blocking access to the building as the sun came up.

Police say a man found suffering from stab wounds was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating.

Police are asking residents who are entering the building to first speak with officers.

The homicide is the city’s 33rd of the year.

Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area of Talbot Avenue and Stadacona street and may have any information about activities or observations during the early morning hours.
