TORONTO – A fire destroyed a vacant home on Sheppard Avenue just west of Bathurst Street late Saturday night.
The home, which was being demolished, had heavy flames and smoke from the rear of the building when firefighters arrived just after 11 p.m.

It was escalated to a 2nd alarm and it took about two hours to bring the fire under control.
There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the blaze is unknown.
Firefighters remained on scene today checking the home for hot spots.
