Waterloo Regional Police investigating daytime bank robbery in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a daytime bank robbery that happened in Cambridge on Friday.

Officers were called to a Scotiabank on Hespeler Road near Sheldon Drive at around 11:45 a.m.

 

Police say a male suspect entered the bank and reportedly pulled out a weapon before asking for money.

He then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing in a light-coloured SUV, according to police.

They say no one was injured in the robbery.

Investigators released three surveillance photos.

They are asking for anyone with information, or dashcam or surveillance footage from the area near the bank, to call 519-824-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This was the 10th bank robbery in Waterloo region this year and third in Cambridge.
