A local elementary school was in hold and secure after unconfirmed reports of a person with a weapon in the area Wednesday afternoon.
Winnipeg police were called to Niji Makhwa School on Flora Avenue and the school was placed in hold-and-secure.
Global News was initially told the school was in lockdown mode, but the Winnipeg School Division clarified that it was not.
The hold-and-secure will last until Winnipeg police give the all-clear.
